From the creators of "FIRIETY", awarded in 1991 with a Silver Jupiter and "HUNDRED YEARS OF CINEMA", in 1995 awarded with a Golden Jupiter, now a new Dutch entry for the 20th Montreal Fireworks Competition in the atmosphere of science fiction: In search of a Leitmotiv, JNS Pyrotechniek got inspired by the fantastic world of science fiction. A world we know from the cinema and comicbooks, crowded with daredevil astronauts, superheroes, robots, androids and alien invaders all accelerating on rocket fuel. Set against the Montreal-skyline, JNS Pyrotechniek will depict the imaginary panorama of "ALPHAVILLE" a future metropolis in a galaxy a thousand light years from now. "Invasion of the colours" will be orchestrated on a sequence of musical icons from classic science fiction films such as: Star Wars – ET - Close Encounters – Superman – Batman - Blade Runner – Alien - The Fifth Element - etc. "Invasion" will reflect an amalgam of technicolour science fiction elements wich range from the sinister gloom of a futuristic nightmare to the bright sunrise of an utopic daydream. TRAILER Entering the suburbs of ALPHAVILLE a megalopolis at the far end of the Universe, we're facing the city-skyline lit by the ominous glow of half a dozen moons. Due to turbulence our spacecraft makes a rather shaky approach and we have to lower speed according to traffic jams before our captain is going to perform a gentle touchdown. In the darkness of deep space ALPHAVILLE is a beacon of hope to any spaceman lured by the promise of non-stop nightlife. This is the safe haven where man and alien are alike in their search for wild entertainment and weird sports. We are lucky, the Rollerball-season just started. In exotic bars eager young space cadets from Intergalactic Battleships mingle with the strangest creatures you've ever came across. Law & Order in this frontiertown are in the hands of vigilantes and caped crusaders. Most of them are franchise characters owned by Multinationals that fight each other around the clock. Bountyhunters and private dicks try to make a living by chasing androids and AstroZombies from alle corners of the Universe. When you feel homesick in the roar of this lunatic City, just open the shades of your spacewindow and watch the spark of countless stars. In the Metropolitan Opera a divine Space-Diva with an exotic coloratura will help us forget our feelings of alienation for a while. New shiploads of Alien-invaders try to create havoc but facing the local chaos they are all doomed to oblivion sooner or later. Some of the more attractive alien-princesses instantly become members of the beau monde and break the hearts of many spacepilots. The longer we stay in ALPHAVILLE the easier we learn to communicate in an amalgam of a thousand different languages. The language of love however is, as always, multi-universal in its deep understanding. The rest is lost in translation. A new mission brings us to the moment of saying farewell to this evergrowing boomtown. The Empire at home, a couple of lightyears from here, needs us on the double. After custom-regulations we're glad to shoot ourselves into the cold emptiness of deep space again. The captain of our ship puts his favourite Rachmaninov-tune on the inflite-channel. Before reaching the outskirts of ALPHAVILLE we have a near miss with a boy riding his bike at hyperspeed! One day we'll be back. Alphaville je t’aime More >>
